Man arrested after crash
A 28-year-old man from Traverse City was arrested for drunk driving Sunday night after a one-car crash in Solon Township.
About 6:20 Sunday night, Cedar Area Fire and Rescue responded to South Cedar Road, just south of Popa Road on a report of that a pick-up truck had struck a utility pole.
Man charged with sex crimes
A 71-year-old Elmwood Township man has been charged with sex crimes against children dating back to 2014.
John G. Brom of 12042 Elk Run was formally charged Dec. 4 in District Court with two counts of criminal sexual conduct/ (CSC) second degree involving persons under the age of 13 and accosting children for immoral purposes.

Festival begins this weekend
The NMRRC Festival of Trains will begin Saturday at the historic Carnegie Library, 322 Sixth St., in Traverse City.
