A 40-year-old woman was arrested Monday afternoon after two separate parties reported a red Jeep SUV driving erratically on Bugai Road.
The deputy assigned to secondary road patrol located the vehicle on South Lake Leelanau Drive near Maple Valley Road in Bingham Township.
Drew A. Scheele, 33, of 2937 Glen Dr., Traverse City — Sentenced after pleading guilty to a probation; 10 additional days in jail; fines and costs preserved; probation revoked, unsuccessful.
The missions team at Empire United Methodist Church will serve as “Spaghetti Bolognese” dinner Friday, Dec. 7 to benefit the Egeler family.

We’re glad one chamber activity does not appear in jeopardy — the naming of a county business of the year. It’s something begun nine years ago by the Leelanau Peninsula Chamber of Commerce through the direction of then-executive director Sally Guzowski.
The chambers of commerce serving businesses and residents of Leelanau County are ripe for change.
That doesn’t mean we’re down on the chambers. On the contrary, their best days should be ahead. What’s needed is an influx of new faces and talent.

James Thomas Stacy passed away peacefully at home in Lake Leelanau on November 26, 2018.
He was born October 8, 1950 in Schenectady, New York to the late Mary Jane Stoker Stacy and the late Richard Thomas Stacy.
Christmas at the Lighthouse
The Grand Traverse Lighthouse will be decked in old-fashioned holiday decor from 3 to 6 p.m. Saturday for “Christmas at the Lighthouse.” Santa will be on hand and there will be craft projects in his “workshop” located in the fog signal building as well as refreshments.

CEDAR – Stephen Michael Thompson, 59, lived a full life until he passed on November 25, 2018. Steve was born on March 23, 1959 to Harold Robert Thompson (deceased 1998) and Ruth Ann (Keith N. deceased 2001) Smith. Steve was born in Traverse City and grew up in Cedar.
