Open Meetings Act questioned, but council continues with agenda
Northport Village came within one vote of having its monthly meeting cancelled.
The Village Council last Thursday voted 4-3 to continue on with its agenda after council member Will Harper offered a motion to cancel based on an alleged violation of the Michigan Open Meetings Act (OMA).

Schaub sent to prison for meth
A 35-year-old Lake Leelanau man could serve up to 15 years in prison in connection with his drug-related arrest last summer.
Circuit Court Judge Kevin A. Elsenheimer sentenced Jacob O. Schaub Tuesday to 16 to 180 months in state prison.

Evangeline Grobbel can do more then just play volleyball.
Grobbel was named to the 2017- 2018 Michigan Community College Athletic Association Academic All- Conference and Academic All- MCCAA Honors for earning a 4.0 grade point average while playing volleyball at Alpena Community College.
